Upgrade the environment
There is a worldwide movement to actively experience places at a more natural, human powered pace. Oregon's reputation for sustainability as well as world class recreation companies goes along with its stature for unrivaled natural beauty. We believe that the best way to discover something new in the world and in ourselves is through natural experience. Our fundamental goal is to preserve and sustain the quality of the natural environment while building a constituency to continue such stewardship.
Design Influences and NGO Affiliations
YELLOWSTONE TO YUKON: This is an international movement that proposes linking various parks and government lands into a robust system of wildlife corridors that creates a more extensive and healthier ecosystem. It promotes local activism and private/public partnerships that minimize conflict between human activities and nature. Dutch Pacific's design approach will utilize and support Y2Y guidelines.
THE NATURAL STEP: This too is an international movement focused on reducing the effect human activities have on the environment by practicing sustainable design. The Natural Step Framework is a creative new approach for addressing environmental challenges based on consensus and systems thinking. Its purpose is to develop and share a common framework comprised of easily understood, scientifically based principles that can serve as a compass to guide society toward a just and sustainable future. The Natural Step 4-Step Framework is listed in the sustainablility section of this website.
The goal for Dutch Pacific's development will be to work within the frameworks of sustainability and habitat practices endorsed by Y2Y and The Natural Step movements. We encourage you to join and learn more about these affiliations:
