The Metolian's members are active and athletic people. The site is located in one of the most beautiful, natural spots in the west. Surrounded by the Deschutes National forest and Jefferson Wilderness areas, it is the ideal launching pad for numerous light impact outdoor activities such as backcountry hiking, mountain biking, rockclimbing, skiing and snowshoeing, to name a few.

It is an ideal outdoor summer recreation area as there are a multitude of campgrounds, trailheads, and equestrian trails in the immediate area of the property. In addition, there are hundreds of miles of old logging roads suitable for mountain biking and accessible directly from the site. Further, there are hundreds of miles of single track bike trails in close proximity to The Metolian.

It is equally advantaged for winter activities as it is the only Central Oregon site with the potential for onsite winter sports. There are a number of cross-country skiing trails as well as backcountry skiing and snowshoeing opportunities. Hoodoo Ski Area – a boutique, family style ski resort – is located six miles away. A seasonal outdoor ice rink with views of the surrounding Cascades provides the perfect setting for a family skate, a game of broomball or pick-up hockey.

Regardless of the season or the conditions, you can still maintain and advance your physical abilities so that you can pursue the activities you enjoy. The Metolian's onsite amenities will include state of the art multisports training facilities, programs, and trainers to provide focused, individualized attention to help you achieve your goals.
